P/B Atty. Renato U. Galimba:
A full decade of dedicated
service to the community

For the 21st -- and probably the last     time -- three-term Barangay Captain, Atty. Renato U. Galimba, faced his constituents in Barangay Greater Lagro and rendered his “State of the Barangay Address (SOBA)” during the 1st Semester 2018 Synchronized Barangay Assembly held on March 31, 2018 at the 3/F of the Administrative Building of Barangay Greater Lagro. The event was attended by hundreds of the constituents of Atty. Galimba.

The occasion marked the 2018 "1st-Semester Synchronized Barangay General Assembly" which was held in compliance with a DILG Memorandum Circular treating on the "Conduct of Barangay Assembly for the First Semester of CY-2018" and pursuant to Proclamation No. 260 dated 30 September 2011 which set the date for the observance of Barangay Assembly Day for the first semester of CY - 2018 on March 31, 2018.

It was the the 21st -- and for all intents and purposes, the last time -- that three-term and out-going Barangay Captain, Atty. Renato U. Galimba, faced his constituents in Barangay Greater Lagro for the purpose of rendering his “State of the Barangay Address (SOBA)” for the previous year’s second semester period.

And more importantly the event serve as a fitting forum for Atty. Galimba to deliver his valedictory address to his constituents in the community whom he so ardently and faithfully served during his full decade of service as chief executive of Barangay Greater Lagro.

In his message to his constituents, Atty. Galimba said it was with deepest emotions of gratitude that he acknowledge the continued and unbroken confidence with which they (his constituents) have sustained him during these trying, albeit eventful and fulfilling past ten years as barangay captain.

Atty. Galimba, in his own words, expressed his deepest gratitude to all of his fellow Lagronians, for their collective support, trust and confidence in  bestowing upon him the honor of being the first and so far, the only barangay captain ever elected to three consecutive terms since the barangay obtained its status as an independent local government unit exactly 21 years ago. He said he really do appreciate the trust they have given him as their local chief executive to lead the barangay towards genuine development adopting the principle of “righteous governance” for the past full decade.

Recalling his experiences right at the start of his first term as  chief executive of the barangay in December of 2007, when he implored his constituents’ support and cooperation, they, his beloved fellow Lagronians, did not hesitate to heed his call. Since then, he said they have been the bridge as they took full and collective responsibility towards genuine development in the community,  thus ushering the people rich opportunities as they forged new covenants in the present and in the future with new values, better education, better health condition, peace and prosperity under the guiding principle of “righteous governance”.

In passing, Atty. Galimba  said it was great to know that at the moment when he finally surrender his last public trust, he will be leaving his esteemed constituents in this great barangay, prosperous and happy and honored and respected by those from other communities, not only in Quezon City and the whole metropolis but in the entire country as well.

Lastly, Atty. Galimba said it has been his greatest pleasure and consolation to know that he has done his job well -- that to his mind, he has fulfilled and redeemed all the promises he gave to his constituents during his campaign for the position of barangay captain in the October 2007 barangay elections, under the principle of “Righteous Governance” which included the following:

            (a) - Promotion and maintenance of peace and order and safety; (b) - Community initiatives, support and involvement;  (c) - Social, moral and spiritual recovery programs/initiatives; (d) - Improved administrtive practices and good housekeeping; (e) - Health and sanitation; (f) - Eduction, youth and sports development; and (g) - Cleanliness, beautification and environmental protection and enhancement.
